Martha Kowalski becomes reflective when she thinks of the journey she and Dan's father have taken with their son. "Dan lived at Ridge Home for many years and moved from there to group homes and then host homes. We learned fairly quickly that we preferred the host home model for care because we could get to know one person or a couple caring for Dan, rather than lots of different staff throughout the day." Finding the Right Balance
